2019 Padthaway Pinot Gris x 6 Bottle Carton
The 2019 vintage featured an early heat spike in January followed by a balanced ripening period developing spice and fragrance.
To balance faster ripening conditions, increased skin contact time added structure and a pinkish hue to pear and a hint of melon flavours with short-bread texture through the middle and after taste.
Grapes were selected and handpicked from manually pruned and extensively crop-thinned vines from our Cardiness vineyard nestled in the cusp of the range amongst the best of Australia’s vineyards.
A low intervention winemaking process incorporated a three-way blend of early and late picked whole bunches with partial skin contact fermentation to ensure flavour, structure with a balance of acid and freshness.
Natural yeast in a two-stage tank and old French oak barrel ferment gave a quicker and healthier process with full solids and no finings to create a complex wine with excellent varietal characteristics, length and finish in a vegan friendly wine.
